MANNEQUIN >> SIT TARGET


Many scripts (programs running in SL) use position and rotation to display an animation on an object. U-Poser is equipped with tools to aid in setup of these scripts. Two methods to obtain the position and rotation are covered below.



Method 1 (using Mannequin)
This method uses the Mannequin and "Set Sit Target" script. Right click a rezzed object and select Edit from the menu to obtain sit target data. Open your inventory and locate the script named "Set Sit Target". Drag and drop "Set Sit Target" into the Content tab (Build Tools).


Click the Mannequin ground reference or pole and choose Sit Target from the menu.


Data will be displayed in nearby chat, highlight and copy to a notecard or text file on desktop for future use. Sit scripts provided with U-Poser use this data and are covered in further detail in the Advanced >> Sit Scripts section. Verify the final setup by placing the animation created by U-Poser in the content of the object. Sit the Avatar on the object to verify the position and rotation of the animation (note the "Set Sit Target" script is only for temporary use and should be deleted from the object once data is obtained).



Method 2 (using existing animation)
This method uses the "Sit Target Helper" object and "Set Sit Target" script. Right click a rezzed object and select Edit from the menu to obtain sit target data. Open your inventory and locate the script named "Set Sit Target". Drag and drop "Set Sit Target" script and the animation to be displayed on the object into the Content tab (Build Tools).


Rez the "Sit Target Helper" from your inventory, right click and select Edit and place the same animation from the previous step into its content.


Sit the Avatar on the "Sit Target Helper" and use SL edit tools to position. Once aligned left click the "Sit Target Helper". Data will be displayed in nearby chat, highlight and copy to a notecard or text file on desktop for future use. Sit scripts provided with U-Poser use this data and are covered in further detail in the Advanced-Sit Scripts section. Verify the final setup by sitting the Avatar on the object to verify the position and rotation of the animation (note the "Set Sit Target" script is only for temporary use and should be deleted from the object once data is obtained).
