Objects may not be attached directly to the Mannequin, however, a special attachment prim may be selected to follow parts of the Mannequin. Objects can then be attached to the prim. Start with the Mannequin in a T-Pose (click Setup 0 from the SIZE side of HUD).
Right click on the Mannequin and choose U-Poser from the menu. Load the size/shape for the Avatar currently on the Mannequin (if current size/shape is not available refer to SIZE/SHAPE >> SETUP 0 before proceeding).
This example shows how an ax (or other objects) can be attached to the right hand. Start by wearing the object. Align the object to the Avatar's right hand.
Rez a second copy of the object.
Align the second object as closely as possible to the object worn by the Avatar.
Click stand to stand up. The object to be attached to the Mannequin will remain in place. Click the pole or ground reference to open the menu shown below. Select Attachment from the menu.
Click Rez New to rez a new attachment prim. A small red rectangular object will appear in front of the Mannequin. (Use Existing from the menu to link an existing attachment prim.)
Click the attachment prim while the pole is flashing to display the following menu. For this example select Arms then select R Hand. The attachment prim will move to the Mannequin's right hand.

While holding down shift select the object to be attached, then select the attachment prim (ensure the attachment prim is the last object selected). Once both objects are selected press Ctrl-L (Command-L for Mac) to link the object and attachment prim together. Mannequin and object will then move in unison.
